The best way to conceal dark circles under eyes isn’t only about using concealer. Is that news to you? Here are 3 easy concealer tricks for dark circles that will make all the difference in how you approach your makeup!
The vast majority of you are missing these crucial steps, including the one that most (but not all) pro makeup artists know to do before applying concealer: color correct.
Take a look at exactly how I did this with MORE Good Day Oregon’s anchor, Stephanie Kralevich. A working mom, she complains that she looks very tired a lot, and because she’s on camera 5 days a week it’s important for her to look fresh – even when she doesn’t feel that way. Can you relate?
In the above before and after (shot with my phone and no airbrushing) you see that when her under eye area is properly concealed it actually brings more attention and clarity to the other features on the face. Interesting, isn’t it?
While the techniques are advanced, they aren’t hard to do, but the difference is massive when you take a little extra time to use a color corrector to erase Best way to conceal dark circles under eyesBelow is a run down of all the organic skin care and non-toxic makeup with the step-by-step process for each item demonstrated in the TV segment, which you can watch via this link or by clicking the image below.
Keep in mind that with all of the products listed, a little bit goes a long way! As a pro, I like really concentrated makeup so you can thin out or build up the coverage you need.
When you buy products that are made with cheap fillers, you won’t get the results or value for your money that you should (just like I talk about in my new Natural Beauty eCourse).
Concealer tricks for dark circles under eyes
Step #1 Prep Under Eyes
To prep Stephanie’s under eye skin before putting on concealer, I used an ultra-rich cream, Elique Organics Honey Berry Moisturizer.
This cream works perfectly – especially for older skin – to act as a primer if you put a little on and allow it to soak in first.
There’s a delicate balance between not enough and too much moisturizer under the eye. So don’t go crazy slathering it on.
I refer to it as “secret-special” because you have to be on a list to get it!
Like all the products from Elique Organics, this is a seasonal, bepoke cream made by a top esthetician in California, crafted from only wild crafted, organic ingredients.
You can get in on the next collection by contacting the creator, Elisha, directly at EliqueOrganics.com – let her know I sent you personally!
Step #2 Color Correct
I’ve been in love with the new Dark Circle Rehab Concentrated Correcting Creams from Pacifica because they actually have a really wonderful coverage, texture and are the right colors to neutralize the blue/purple tones under the eyes.
Like I said in the video, it may look a little strange to you at this stage, but you’ll be amazed at what a big difference it makes when it’s time for Step 3!
Available at multiple locations around the country, including Blush Beauty Bar in Portland, Oregon where we filmed the segment.
Step #3 Conceal
Finally it’s time to apply concealer! You need to pick a shade that’s closest to your skin tone. A little lighter is OK, but don’t go too much lighter or you’ll risk having the effect of “raccoon eyes”.
Of course I was using my favorite Hynt Beauty DUET Perfecting Concealer to finish things off.
Again, don’t get heavy handed with any of these steps. If you do as I’ve outlined and shown, you’ll get amazing results for brighter under eyes!
