The holiday season is upon us, and whether meeting friends for dinner, attending a company party or reconnecting with family, this time of year presents a plethora of occasions for looking our best. At the same time, we also tend to be busier and more stressed, which can leave us looking a little less-than fabulous. Green Beauty Team to the rescue! Here are a few makeup must-haves that will help you look refreshed and radiant for the upcoming, holiday festivities.
Get Glowing …
For the Color: Add a healthy, vibrant hue to your cheeks with Revolution Organics Freedom Beauty Balm (which conveniently, can also be used on lips). This beauty balm is ideal for dry and/or dull skin because it provides both color and moisture, thanks to organic coconut and jojoba oils. Choose from three shades: Blushed is a fun, bright pink, while Sunkissed and Bronzed give a peachy glow that mimics a summertime tan. Use your finger or a foundation brush to apply it on the apples of your cheek, then blend along the cheekbone toward your hairline.
If there’s any time to go for that smokey eye or bright lip you have been wanting to try, the holidays are it! The key to pulling off a statement look is to choose just one feature to go bold with.
If you’re all about the eyes, go for that sultry look by lining the upper and lower lash lines with a Jane Iredale Eye Liner Pencil in black, brown, navy or dark purple. Using a small, angled brush, lightly trace over the line and smudge liner away from the lash line. Be sure to neutralize any discoloration under eyes with a concealer such as Christopher Drummond Beauty’s Duo Phase. Then add lots of mascara to top and bottom lashes to finish off the dramatic effect.
For lips that say “holiday-haute”, there is simply nothing more chic than a fabulous red lip.
If you want to try something new, lipstick trends this season also suggest bright colors such as orange, pink and plum that can be just as festive as classic red.
Check out Ilia Beauty for richly pigmented, long-wearing lipstick, perfect for a party. A statement lip should be worn with minimal makeup; a few coats of mascara and a nicely groomed brow will be all you need to complete the look.
Celebrate your beauty and have a healthy, happy and hot holiday!
