Korres is a Greek company that utilizes natural formulations, eco-friendly packaging and production, and a wallet-friendly price point. I just couldn’t resist the urge to try out several of their products!
I am still continuing to expand my grasp of the various natural cosmetic and skin care lines that are now available. Since graduating from an intensive holistic skincare institute four years ago, this industry has made leaps and bounds in variety, quality, and accessibility.
To be able to offer recommendations and sound advice to my clients, I am giving my skin a bit of a work out while I sample a myriad of products.
One natural line which I have found to be readily available and provide an extensive offering of products is Korres. It is a Greek company that utilizes natural formulations, eco-friendly packaging and production, and a wallet-friendly price point. I have been extremely pleased with the products I have tried out so far.
Lashes that Last
My favorite is the Provitamin B5 & Rice Bran Mascara; I was lucky enough to be blessed with short, stick-straight lashes (sarcasm, of course). Finding a mascara that gives me length and volume while holding a curl has always been a struggle for me. Now this struggle has been made even more difficult when trying to stick with natural products. The color tends to run under my eyes and my lashes fall flat in less than an hour. When giving this mascara a try, I even interrogated the saleswoman about its ability to hold curl and not to bleed. She confidently promised me it would exceed my expectations and informed me that the Provitamin B helps to nourish your lashes while the rice bran plumps to give you added volume. I gave her a skeptical look, and made my purchase.
The next morning I went through my routine of curling my lashes and swiping on a few coats of mascara. So far, so good. Nice volume and separation without clumps. A rich black pigment. And I didn’t even have to go back and curl again. So, I wanted to see what would happen after a couple hours of walking around the city. To my surprise, it held up amazingly well! No color transfer to my under eyes and still curled nicely. I have been using it ever since and loving it. At $18 per tube, it is a reasonable choice.
I also bought one of the various value sets that Korres offers. They have assembled some of their most popular color palettes in coordinating shades to make starting a new routine easy. I purchased the Cherry Kisses lip gloss set which includes three easy to wear colors of the Cherry Oil Lip Gloss. It was only $19.50 for all three which normally retail for $16 a piece. The glosses contain antioxidants as well as Jojoba oil, and the cherry oil gives a subtle fragrance and sweet flavor. The shine is soft and moisturizing making them comfortable to wear all day.
Take Your Vitamins
The final product I have sampled from this line is the Ginger and Vitamins Foundation. This is a light, water-based tinted moisturizer and it has an SPF 10. It has Ginger to improve clarity and soothe redness, as well as Vitamin C and Vitamin E. The texture is silky and easily smoothes onto the skin. You can also build it up for more coverage if needed.
I like to do my makeup in five minutes or less, so a tinted moisturizer is perfect to rub into my skin with my fingers. The one thing that I didn’t like about this foundation is the smell. Its not terrible. It’s just kind of sweet and I continue to smell it throughout the day, which I’m not a big fan of. But the feel, color and coverage are all nice. It is $28 for a 1.35 fl oz tube, so it should last you from now through the summer.
My experience with Korres products has been a positive one so far. I know I will definitely continue to use their mascara, and I look forward to trying out their skin care and some more of their cosmetics.
