This will lead to hormonal imbalances, an overload of toxins, weakened immunity and skin-damaging inflammation, just to name a few issues. All of these inner troubles will show up on your skin in the form of breakouts.
Getting the right amount and quality of sleep could help you lose weight; feel energized and clear; be productive, creative and emotionally stable; ward off colds AND have healthy, beautiful skin. Yep, all this from just getting some shut-eye!

Sleeping is the one activity you can do for your health that has innumerable benefits and barely takes any effort, and it’s already something you do every day. The goal is to get more and make it better quality if it isn’t already. Here are a few ways to achieve your best beauty sleep:
- Create a Sleep Sanctuary: Bedrooms are for sleep only; remove the TV, computer, desk and distractions.
- Establish a Bedtime Routine: Ideal sleeping hours are 11pm-7am. Keep the same schedule even on the weekends.
- Limit Food and Beverage Consumption: Finish eating three hours before bedtime.

After 7-9 hours of good quality beauty sleep, your body needs hydration and a good flush to complete the detoxification process it just went through overnight

- Place an 8-10 oz. glass of room temperature water next to your bed at night, upon waking sit up and drink it all before getting out of bed. That’s it!
- Next, drink 1-2 cups of warm to hot water with ½ of a fresh squeezed lemon while getting ready.
Lemon is extremely cleansing and detoxifying … a great way to start the day! It is also very high in vitamin C which will give your immune system a boost.

In addition to focusing on inner health for clear skin, being aware of what the skin “consumes” is just as important. I use the word “consume” to open your eyes to the fact that it is imperative to be mindful of what we put on our bodies as it is in our mouths.

Most skin-clearing products on the market contain dangerous chemicals that are toxic to your health. For example, benzoyl peroxide is one of the main ingredients in these products, yet it is banned in Europe due to its strong ties to tumors and cancer. It also damages the skin by killing new skin cell formation and can contribute to accelerated aging of the skin.
